On the Camino - day 5

Journeying with you Creator God is to journey in your world…

I woke up with a sadness filling me. Are we really near the end of this road? I’m not ready to be done. I want to walk more, absorb more, experience and wait for more. Having acknowledged my sadness, it slowly dissipated as I embraced the journey of the day. Like the fog lifting as the sun rose, so did my spirit rise. I simply walked…noticing. The marvels of spider webs sprinkled with dew, textures and colors, the feel of the earth.

Journeying with you brother Jesus is to journey with your friends…

I noticed the friends with whom I traveled, walking together even when separate. I noticed the woman with the Phillies cap bringing a rush of warmth from my home roots. I traveled with others – seesawing back and forth in our paces along the path, traveling together a while and then parting ways.

Journeying with you Holy Spirit is to journey with the wind…

The wind is gentle on my skin as I sit with my feet up at the end of the day. I don’t know yet what words to put to the rhythm and feeling of the day. The one word that surfaces is “holy.” So for now may I simply continue

to move to your wild music then try to sing your song so others may hear.*
